Moty Bank, CEO and Co-Founder
Moty’s marketing vision and leadership skills have played a major role in Sagarmatha’s success, from early days when he co-founded Sagarmatha in 1999. Prior to that, he served in executive management positions at the Strauss/Elite group, one of Israel’s leading consumer goods companies. He holds a BSc in Computer Science and Mathematics, and an MBA in Operational Research, both from Tel Aviv University.
Outside of his professional life, Moty’s interests include chess, good food, theatre and international travel.
Shmulik has responsibility for the technology infrastructure upon which the company’s offering is built, and leads the software development of both current and future products. Prior to joining Sagarmatha, he worked at Eyron Ltd, a software pioneer, where he served as Project Manager. He later joined Elbit Defense Systems as head of the Helicopter Avionic System Definition Team, and went on to join Sagarmatha on its founding in 1999.
Shmulik holds a BSc in Physics and Computer Science from Bar Ilan University, and is an accomplished long distance runner.
Asaf joined Sagarmatha in 2005 as a Senior Algorithm Developer, and now heads up the company’s algorithmic research team, in addition to managing the operations of all retail customers. Prior to Sagarmatha, he was a researcher at the R&D labs of IBM in Israel. Asaf holds an MSc (summa cum laude) degree in Computer Science and Applied Mathematics from the Weizmann institute of Science, and a BSc (summa cum laude) in Computer Science from Tel-Aviv University.
Asaf enjoys all kinds of outdoor activities, from skiing in the Alps to trekking in the Negev desert.
Chen joined Sagarmatha in 2014 to spearhead the company’s international growth, and manages both sales and business development efforts in Europe, Asia, Africa and Oceana. He has a rich history of success in selling complex technology based solutions into mass retailers globally, and most recently served as VP of Sales for Retalix/NCR, heading up their customer facing efforts in Europe. He holds a BA in Business Economics from the highly acclaimed College of Management Academic Studies.
A connoisseur of fine food and wine, Chen blends the good life with a love of marathon running.
Roni joined Sagarmatha in January 2008 as a developer of algorithms, and has since risen to the position of Director of Research, spearheading the development of the advanced data science upon which the offer optimization software is based. In addition to the research, he also acts as a strategic analytic expert, working with a select group of key retail clients.
Roni has a PhD in Brain Science from the Bar Ilan University in Israel, with a focus on Machine Learning and Computational Modelling of Human Decision Making. He enjoys hiking, solving cryptic crosswords, and jogs occasionally (without enjoying it).
Yael joined the company shortly after its founding, and has played an integral role in various operational and management positions ever since, including software and algorithm development. An accomplished expert in data mining and analytics, she now heads up the team behind Sagarmatha’s Apex Insight Discovery solution, providing an online data sharing platform to retail clients. Prior to joining Sagarmatha, Yael held the position of Senior Software Engineer at ART Advanced Recognitions (acquired by Nuance), where she had developed handwriting and speech recognition algorithms.
Yael holds a BSc (cum laude) from Tel-Aviv University (Statistics & Computer Science) and enjoys reading books and hiking.
Adam joined Sagarmatha in 2014, and leads the team responsible for developing and commercializing the company’s new online data platform, aimed at providing CPGs / vendors with advanced shopper insights. Prior to that, Adam managed the Information Department of StoreNext, a leading provider of consumer marketing information in Israel.
Adam holds a Masters Degree in Agricultural Economics from the Hebrew University of Jerusalem. When he’s not working, he enjoys travelling with his family, and touring the country on his motorbike.
Rob has 20 years of global experience in the retail and consumer products field, having sold products, solutions and consulting services to leading retail chains on 5 continents. Prior to joining Sagarmatha, Rob served as VP Business Development for Daymon Worldwide, a leader in private brand development and in-store marketing, and then as VP of Marketing for Freshpoint, an Israeli start up company. In addition to guiding Sagarmatha’s marketing efforts, Rob serves as a strategic consultant to a select group of leading Israeli technology and consumer products companies.
Born and raised in South Africa, Rob has a B.Comm with majors in both Law and Economics from the University of Witwatersrand, South Africa. His interests include running, playing and watching soccer, and trying to keep up with new age consumer technologies.
